What are locker codes? Longtime fans of the "NBA 2K" series already know what these are, so here's a quick explanation for the newer players. Locker codes are used to unlock features and other goodies in the game that are not available when one starts playing. Think of it as an extra bonus of sorts given by 2K Sports for buying their game.
2K releases the codes themselves, however, gamers can always check out other sites. But players have to be careful if they choose to do so since there are always scammers out there who are trying to obtain personal data from their victims.
To redeem a locker code, players must go to the main menu and click on Options/Features. Then click on Locker Codes. After that, players can then enter the locker code provided by 2K.
Here's something that may interest some players. A few days ago, 2K announced that players will be able to get a locker code simply by buying Ruffles chips at Walmart. If a gamer buys a copy of "NBA 2K17" and two bags of Ruffles between Sept. 10 and Oct. 2, he/she will get 5,000 in virtual currencies, as well as two Jump Packs of Park Cards.
However, this promo is only available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, so apologies to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players out there. U4NBA is appointed to be the dealers of NBA 2K17 MT by NBA 2K online games developers.
Meanwhile, rumors of leaked locker codes came out earlier this month as NBA 2K17 News reported that codes were leaked on Twitter. The authenticity of the codes hasn't been verified, and some fans even pointed out that these were actually locker codes for "NBA 2K16," not this year's game.
While the release date of "NBA 2K17" is on Sept. 20, players can get the game now if they pre-ordered 2K's Early Tip-Off Edition. The game is available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC. Players can purchase need for NBA 2K17 MT PC & Xbox & PS at u4nba.com.
